Tanya Byker

This is one of the best classes I have taken at Middlebury. Professor Byker's teaching style was very engaging and she made the class so interesting and touched upon very relevant topics. The projects were personal and make you get involved with the content you are seeing in class and in the readings. I absolutely recommend taking this class.

I took this class for the econ major- absolutely loved it. It was never super hard / stressful and I really learned so much. It completely changes your thinking about being in the work force and you write a paper on your family history, which is one of the best parts.

I felt like the material of this course was fascinating and crucial to understanding what its like to operate in an economic household or unit, a decision that many of us will make in the nearish future. It really felt like a class preparing me for my life beyond college. Like sooo cool and interesting to think about the economics of marriage, work, distribution of labor, having kids, etc. Relevant for anyone who plans to do any of this in their life.
