This course is heavily based on lectures and discussion. The work load is minimal and to improve "accessibility" you can even attend class via zoom. Even though this is a light class I would not suggest it due to the lack of learning about actual disability and in my opinion offensive representation of disability. It is not worth your time.
I really enjoyed this class--it's a wonderful introduction to disability studies and raises a lot of challenging topics that push you out of your comfort zone. We learned about the political-relational model of disability, which places the problem outside of individuals and instead focuses on the lack of access and support in society, as well as the history of the disability rights movement. The readings were fantastic and not too long. We had three projects and no exams. Dr. B is an amazing professor who is very enthusiastic about the topic and very attentive to student needs. She gives incredibly detailed feedback and builds an inclusive and welcoming classroom space. There are also lots of opportunities for extra credit and participation.

I enjoyed this class with Dr. B a lot. She is a very accommodating professor and is passionate about Disability Studies! The material is not difficult, however a lot of what I learned is that there are no clear answers to most things in disability studies. Three large projects make up most of your grade.
