Shinkyu (James) Lee
It was a nice course, the readings were a bit dense and we had quite a bit of them. I also think that discussions really depend on the people in there. I think James Lee brought good energy to the course very animated or upbeat when talking about things. Very lecture, sit and watch type of class though.
Lee's class was by far my favorite class at Midd. He engages students by making them explain why they believe what they do about the readings. He is very enthusiastic, and his enthusiasm is contagious. The course itself was very interesting. The work is not that much.
This course was a great introduction to international human rights. The lectures were always engaging, and Professor Lee did a great job at explaining the more abstract, theory-heavy side of the course material. We had several papers, a midterm and final, and a group debate. Professor Lee is also a very kind and fun person; I would definitely recommend taking this course with him.
