Shinkyu (James) Lee

James has a very particular teaching style that is very different from most other professors I have at Midd. He reads off his script a lot, and he does so very fastly, so it might be hard to catch up if you are not a fast typer.

Prof. Lee is great! I really enjoyed this class and especially Prof Lees lectures which were very engaging and easy to follow along. This class was presentation heavy and included many little activities during the class time.

There are readings due every lecture, but Prof. Prakash and Lee explained them during the lecture, and you have a chance to ask questions about them during discussions. We had three short essays, a midterm exam, and a final project, as well as a few mini group projects for discussion. Prof. Lee is very entertaining and will challenge your views. You mostly learn how to read academic articles in a wide range of topics within IGS.
