Natural Hazards is easy because there is a very light workload. However, it is fast-paced and very lecture-heavy. Expect about one reading assignment per week, as well as one graded in-class writing prompt based on the previous week's lectures. The professor is enthusiastic, but the content is sometimes repetitive and disorganized.

I really enjoyed this course, and Sean's teaching methods. He is very enthusiastic about the material and effective at teaching complex subject matter. You are not required to do a lot of work outside of class, but its one of those situations where you get out what you put in. I have become more confident presenting and digesting scientific articles. I will say the only homework assignments every few weeks don't take too long but they sometimes feel quite pointless and confusing.

Sean Peters is a great professor and very passionate and fun. If you need a lighter class in your schedule I would definitely recommend taking natural hazards with Sean Peters. If you pay attention in class you can actually learn a lot about natural disasters, how they are formed and how they affect communities. The readings are straightforward and there is a simple quiz every Monday but it is chill because we get one page of notes to use.
