Sean Peters
This course was quite frustrating to be honest. The work load was not too bad, as there was only 8 assignments in total for the entire semester (5 assignments, 2 lecture summaries, 1 final project). The work required in the assignments forced us to have a solid understanding on various complex applications, which was a VERY frustrating and time-consuming process. Unless you have an interest in Environmental Science or just really dislike math classes, I would not take this class. Professor Peters was very kind and funny though, and he was very passionate about the material that is taught in this course. At time though, he could be a bit unhelpful, but it is because he wanted us to struggle with the applications so we learned how to use them ourselves.

I took this course to fulfill my science requirement and it was great! Prof Peters is very engaging, and although the course is lecture heavy he makes it super interesting and fun. There was one super short open-note quiz every week along with two small group presentations and a reflective journal due at the end of the semester. Overall super easy but fun and engaging course. Would definitely take again!!

I believe that professor peters cares deeply for Earth Science material. Simultaneously, the way he does lectures and the degree to which he asks students to conduct independent research, no matter the topic, is often detrimental to learning. He often has no lecture whatosever.
