Sarah Stroup
INTD
Super fun class. It was definitely difficult, but it's very manageable. Stroup is a fair but tough grader. You can do very well if you apply yourself. Lots of discussions and 3 large papers made up the majority of my grade.
I took this class to help fill part of my missing credit without taking the intense five classes in one semester, and I loved it. Professor Stroup made the class feel engaging with her enthusiasm and her way of teaching included lectures as well as inviting visiting speakers to engage in discussions, other professors to engage in practicing the class material, and a lot of group work/discussions. This was easily my favorite class and I would recommend it to everyone.

Sara Stroup is an amazing professor; she has so much enthusiasm for the material and really worked to provide us with a historical overview of international aid policies. There was a lot of material to cover and therefore a lot of readings, but her lectures were comprehensive and broke down each of the concepts well. Throughout the semester, you'll write 3-4 papers, most of which are analytical case studies of international aid policies. This has to have been one of my most favorite classes at Midd, as it taught me so much about how aid decisions are made and inspired me to work in the international aid sector myself.
