Professor Sheldon is a very engaging and fair professor, making this course an interesting and productive class. The course is structured in a way that revolves primarily around in-class discussions and mini presentations, although the expectations are very fair and it is presented in a low-stakes way.

This class was pretty easy and the Sheldon is really nice. He's not a tough grader and doesn't cold call. He gives a lot of reading, and I didn't think it was all necessary so I skipped a couple of them and was fine. He also talks like a textbook and sometimes it was hard to understand what he was trying to explain, so there would be awkward silence whenever he would ask a discussion question to us. But overall, it was a fine class and a chill pre-1800 for English majors.

Prof. Sheldon is very kind and passionate, but I find his teaching style to be lacking. He speaks like an academic text (which could be expected of a college English professor) and he is often difficult to understand. There is also a lot of reading, but it does lead to some interesting class discussion and ideas.
