Ruth Hardy
I absolutely hated going to this class. The discussions were like an echo chamber and were so unstructured that I felt that there was nothing relevant to gain from them. The entire class was discussion based. The instructor consistently changed material and deadlines. The ungrading method proved to be highly subjective and not at all reflective of the work you put in. The instructor did a "vibes based" type of grading towards the end with very little evidence because none of your work save maybe two submissions is graded. I severely regret taking this class. I still have nightmares about it. Not that it's particularly hard, but it's just very frustrating and unpredictable. You put in a lot of unseen group work. You have to be in the instructors good graces to even think about an A. I wrote a beast of an essay for my CRFs and that was more than all the graded components combined. If you voice an opinion that thinks outside of the box you will be shut down.

An amazing class that everyone should take! Professor Hardy is not only a professor but a Vermont state senator who brings her experience and knowledge to class. As a bonus! You get to call each other "senator" in this class.
This class focused on interesting material and required little work outside of class. Not a lot of reading or writing was required, just 2-3 very short essays and a group project for the final. Professor Hardy was pretty disorganized, though, and kept changing the course as we were going.
