This class is definitely reading intensive, but you can also watch almost all of the plays on YouTube. Roman is an awesome professor and keeps the class entertaining and engaging for everyone. The two oral exams are just discussions with the professor about the material and are very relaxed. I would recommend this course to anyone taking upper level German.

Nonetheless, Roman is very accommodating to his students as the exams are for you to choose and pick what and how much to write on. His oral midterm and final focuses on not thoroughness but intensity of interaction with the material. He will notice if you read nothing, but it is ok to prioritize in your reading. Worth taking.

Great German class. Very chill and relaxed. Daily homework but they are easy and not super high stakes. Unit tests that are also not very hard. Have to be pretty active to get the most out of conversational practice.
