Generally a fun j-term class. Basically no homework and happened in the evening so you had the whole day to do whatever you needed. At times was pretty boring, but was generally inoffensive. Lessons taught by Peter were generally somewhat interesting. I learned a little bit about the legal system in Vermont, but most of the information is more stories or general concepts instead of actually useful skills or information. There were frequent guest speakers and the quality was extremely hit or miss. Some were fun, well-explained discussions and exercises, while others were extremely dry. One guest speaker slowly rambled pseudoscience about the effectiveness and usage of 'lie detector' polygraph examinations. He outright said that if 'done right' they had 100% accuracy and advocated for more widespread use. Aside from that many classes involved just watching clips from My Cousin Vinny, and brief discussions about the legal system. In general, if you're looking for an extremely easy and relaxed class this is the perfect class. If you are actually interested in learning about the legal system, potentially having a career in law, or generally want to see if you enjoy studying this kind of stuff, this class is not going to be helpful for any of that.
