I liked the course overall. It's required for IPEC major. The problem sets are very similar to the exams, but the exams are a bit harder. Luckily, the professor can curve the grade based on overall class performance. If you read the textbook and pay attention in class, you will be fine.

Professor Porteous is very smart, and the class can be intense but it's very straightforward. The exams are very true to the problem sets, and he encourages you to work with classmates. This is mainly an IP&E class, but anyone can take it.

I liked the content of this course since it related a lot to what was happening around the world. We actually had an exam on election day, which was interesting/stressful to say the least. The professor is very good in my opinion. His enthusiasm for the course and precise teaching style helped me understand better. He communicated and offered as much help as possible to students. I think if you do the work and put in time practicing the problems on the problem sets, you'll be fine.
