Natasha Ngaiza
I had no prior experience in film, so I found this course challenging, especially the papers we had to write analyzing various films and their techniques. Professor Ngaiza's teaching style was frustrating, especially how she led class discussions. Professor Ngaiza was very knowledgeable and passionate about the course material, and she was very helpful during office hours.
This course was a mountain of work, but looking back I definitely learned a lot. There were very few formal lectures or direction, and most learning came from teaching yourself as you go and getting feedback from Professer Ngaiza/your peers. I don't recommend this course if you are a non-FMMC major or aren't super interested in filmmaking, as it takes a lot of time.
It's a pretty chill hands on class. If you're really interested in pursuing film and media as a major this is definitely an interesting class and you'll learn a lot on how to work with camera equipments.
