Filmmaking is only difficult because of the sheer amount of work. There are a lot of projects and Prof. Ngaiza moves quickly through them. Most everything is done outside of class, so if you have other difficult (or time consuming) classes, it can be easy to fall behind. However, you learn an incredible amount. The in-class workshops and projects are really great, and the feedback sessions are fun and helpful.

Prof. Ngaiza is very passionate and enthusiastic, the discussions after the movie screenings were super interesting. Oftentimes the discussions started even before class time: right after the screening. The topics she chose were great as well, I learned a lot about Black movements and depiction of Black Americans in the cinema. The class is very chill overall, not much work at all.

This course was pretty chill and the main components were a short paper with a collage, a video project, artist collage, and a final short podcast.Along with reading reflections and in-class projects. Most of the assignments were pretty easy to do, but required a bit of effort in order to receive a good grade. Overall this was an enjoyable class.
