The material is incredibly valuable and the readings we work with are great. Student-led discussions and debates happen every day for the second half of class. They are very useful to engage with the material and gain discussion skills. The professor is impartial to all ideological approaches to IPE, which is good in order to learn about all of them. There are no exams and very little homework. Only a final paper. The problem with this class is the lecture teaching style. The slides are generally not helpful. While the teacher tries to explain the concepts, it is often difficult to follow and understand.

I thought the professor was quite good at teaching this course. At times her lecturing was quite fast paced but she was good at adjusting her teaching style throughout the semester and asking for feedback. She assigned a lot of reading but as long as you more or less skimmed the readings you were alright to participate in the discussion we had at the end of every class.
As an IP&E major, I enjoyed this course far more than PSCI 103 which I took with the same professor. While the class can be kind of discussion heavy to a fault, it ultimately is not overly challenging. If you buy in and do the readings, you can learn a lot. Decent class and necessary step in the road for IP&E
