Monica Przyperhart

I loved Monica SO much but the lecture portion of this class with Peter Ryan couldn't have been more boring if it tried. Lab with Monica actually taught me a lot and also gave me a chance to connect to outdoor spaces around Middlebury which I really appreciated. Ryan's lecture, on the contrary, felt like a waste of time. Which was unfortunate because he is very kind!

This was a very chill class as someone who took AP environmental science. There wasn't that much new information. Most work came from one presentation, a few homework assignments that we could use sources on, and labs. Labs were the hardest work and the most writing, but in general there was enough support to do well on them. It was an easy and chill start to my first semester.

This class was really fun and would absolutely take it again. Monica is an extremely effective communicator of the conservation biology side of ornithology and Mark Spritzer who co-teaches the class is more involved in the neuroscience/detailed lecture side which really compliments each other. Very much recommend it
