Meaghan Winder
This is an interesting class, and it feels valuable, but it moves very slowly, and there are not a lot of different topics. The content is very logical, and you can reason things out. Overall a good class, but the content can get a little boring at times.
A very great class as part of the Stats major. Meaghan is easily one of the nicest professors i have ever had and was very easy going. She would be flexible with deadlines and give lots of help, as long as you reached out and asked. In class lectures were sometimes hard for me to follow, as she would move quickly writing out things on her ipad, but always ok to ask her to go back or re-explain something. Homeworks each week were not easy and had a 3 week long window you could tern them in

This course does move a bit quicker than I had expected, but the formatting of material and teaching made up for that fact. I had taken AP Stat in high school but the material review at the start of the course easily accommodates anyone without any background in statistics. The reading usually wasn't too bad, and as long as you did them, the application practice during class clarifies anything you might struggle with. The projects were tricky at first because it's a brand new concept, but Mrs. Meaghan will help you throughout the process if you take the time to go to her office hours. The projects themselves build on top of one another as they are all statistical reports, thus making it so the material really solidifies throughout the semester. She is very passionate about statistics and that really shows with her teaching as well as during office hours (which were also very flexible and accessible). If you're partial to mathematics, you'll enjoy this class!
