McLean Macionis

As somebody who enjoys songwriting but always had difficulty with the technological aspects of recording my music, this course was really helpful in making music recording more intuitive. Learning how to use a DAW on your own can be very tedious, but McLean is extremely knowledgable and receptive to any question which makes the learning process smooth. Assignments are easy, consisting of your own compositions and listening responses, but he will not hesitate to dock marks for something turned in late.

McLean was a good professor with a lot of knowledge in the area. However, the course was somewhat disorganized because everyone came in at different skill levels and I think he had trouble accommodating everyone becauese of that. Grades depended on weekly album listening + reflections and project check points.
