McKinley Brumback
While I am not a STEM major, I really enjoyed this course. I have always had an interest in space and the universe so it was nice to explore that with this course. Prof. Brumback was awesome, she is clearly very passionate about the subject matter. I would recommend this course to everyone looking to get their science requirement the math is easy and everything is interesting.
Do NOT take this course if you value your GPA. Homework/classwork is graded extremely harshly so look over homework policies carefully. The final is a group presentation worth 40% of your grade and is GROUP EVALUATED. I got unlucky with my partners, was speaking last in the group project and got cut off for time. Our presentation was a disaster and in the group feedback 7 out of 8 comments were related to my peers' work. Received a 70% on the final, absolutely tanking my grade. Professors did not accept my appeal for a regrade. Additionally, there were several homework questions that were inaccurate or actively misleading that I also appealed and was blatantly rejected. I highly recommend you do not take this course it makes you want to scratch your eyes out. Frankly the way the professors handled my situation was so ridiculous, I met with my academic advisor and they say I have a case to appeal to the school for student unfairness. Pray for me

Content was interesting, but the course itself was awful. We had 6 HWs, and all were pretty long. Also many graded in class assignments. Grading seemed pretty random and subjective, appeared to just be harsh for the sake of being harsh. Final presentations were worth 40% of total grade, and the Professors deducted points for everything they could. Pretty miserable class.
