It was a good class. I wish i had been warned that it was very basic math, i felt a bit bored as math was a bit overexplained. I felt it was very harsh grading that was quite nitpick in the name of teaching the quantative method. Overall quite enjoyed the content about the universe!

I love this course! I am by no means a STEM major, but the course interested me greatly, and I found the work very doable. The majority of the problems involve either plugging in numbers into a given equation or explaining a phenomenon. In addition to the knowledge I gained about a fascinating, relatively niche discipline, I also feel that I walked away with enhanced problem-solving skills. This course is well suited for a wide range of students. My one issue was with the grading -- it is often very nitpicky, and it is useful to learn the professor's habits very quickly.

I really, really love this course. I'm not a physics major nor in STEM but I was recommended and this truly is a joyful class. The course structure is really well built and easily absorbed. Dr. Brumback is amazing not only in teaching but she's extremely good natured and would care and joke with students. In terms of workload: A homework packet every week- but due on Monday nights with extension and that helps a lot. A quiz every 2 weeks but tends to be easier than homework. Lab and fieldwork is interactive and not hard, you get to use resources of the college like telescopes and have the chance to go on bi-hall roof and use the observatory. I really, really love this class and I can't recommend it enough.
