Martin Seehuus

The course is very clearly structured with interesting lectures that together, as Prof. Seehuus promised, will make you informed in the field of Sexuality Research, what are its problems and where is it going. The evaluation is a variety of anatomy quizzes, case studies (in which hypothetical patients ask you questions for you to answer in a professional manner), and definition papers (because, as the first few lectures will establish, definition of terms is not that easy in this field). There were two longer papers: a large definition paper which just involves a more comprehensive discussion, and in the end a research proposal in this field. Each work constitute 5-15% of the course grade, so it's okay to mess up on one or two of them; you can catch up later on. Prof. Seehuus's lectures are clear, critical but a fun to have as well, and this is his field of research so he knows a hell lot in the materials here. Though prepare to take notes (or have terrific memory) because he does not usually publish his lecture slides and there's no textbooks in this course so it really relies on paying attention on classes.

Prof. Seehuus has very interesting lectures about his experiences with actual patients and cases of psychological disorders. From his class, I gained many insights into the world of clinical psychology, and I think that it's worth giving a chance if that's something that you're interested in pursuing in the future! The class itself is not difficult -- just a textbook reading each week and two simple papers that you can start and submit at pretty much any time during the semester. The exams and online quizzes are also not difficult, given that you pay attention in class and read the textbook.

Great class! The material is all super interesting, so it's easy to stay engaged. The class had weekly quizzes, which were easy as long as you paid attention during lecture and reviewed your notes beforehand. There were also two short (2pages) papers and 3 exams. I really enjoyed this class!
