Marta Manrique-Gomez

While Marta's lectures can be dry at times, her laid back and kind hearted nature more than make up for it. I was able to survive the semester thanks to this class as it never once felt overwhelming and can really balance out a hard schedule. I highly recommend.

This was my first 300 level Spanish course and I really enjoyed it. Marta is easy to understand and has a lot of enthusiasm for the material. I found that a lot of the topics I learned about I was able to see and understand more once I studied abroad in Spain, which was cool and rewarding. There are 2 main presentations, 1 where you are alone and must present for 15 minutes which was a little nerve racking. Exams are based on the powerpoints and readings, so as long as you pay attention you'll be fine.

Marta is so lovely. She is clearly passionate about the class and cares about each of her students. I found the class fairly easy, with the exception of papers being graded somewhat rigorously. Staying on top of the homework is important so that the class material makes sense, but the workload for this class is completely manageable.
