Markus Gerke
Markus is an incredible professor. He really values the students and focuses on students learning over anything else. His classes are organized around mostly reading and discussions and he has a few assignments added in, about one each month.
This was one of the first courses I took at Middlebury and it remains my favorite humanities class. The readings were all super interesting and made me question so much about myself as a man, in the best way. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking for a low workload, fascinating class.
This was a great course to take. I would highly suggest taking this as it is very interesting and has a lighter work load. One suggestion is to make sure that you participate in lectures as I did not receive a great participation grade.
