Comparative Vertebrate Biology is a fascinating and engaging course that offers a deep dive into the structure, function, and evolution of vertebrates. The class does a great job of connecting anatomy, physiology, and evolutionary concepts, making the material both interesting and applicable. While the content can be dense at times, it is presented in a clear and organized way that supports learning. The lab component is especially valuable, as it provides hands-on experience that reinforces lecture material. Overall, this course is both challenging and rewarding, and I would highly recommend it to students interested in biology, pre-health tracks, or anyone curious about how vertebrate systems compare and evolve.

The cell biology course was solid overall. The material was presented clearly, and the workload felt manageable. While nothing about the class stood out as exceptional, it consistently covered the essentials and gave me a decent understanding of the subject. The instructor was supportive, and the structure of the course made it easy to keep up. It wasn’t the most exciting class I’ve taken, but it was reliable and worthwhile.

Overall, the class was very fast-paced. Professor Spritzer would jump between content, and it made it difficult to follow along if you got confused at any point. He is very passionate about Biology but sometimes it felt as though we were speed running through the class, and everyone would be lost. The class was very exam-heavy and relied on a lot of memorization. You're given a sheet with the notes from the lecture, which helps you follow along. Be prepared to memorize everything on there for the exams. The good thing was that nothing unexpected was on the exams. Although if you didn't understand a concept or have it completely memorized, it would definitely have an impact on your grade. He is not the most approachable person, especially for a first year, which made it a bit intimidating to ask questions or receive help when needed. Overall, for anyone smart, this class won't be too bad.
