I thought the content was very interesting. Clinton is one of those "no-nonsense" professors who can be controversial. I am a good student and did every reading (which are quite extensive) so I did very well, but a lot of people don't do all the readings and they suffer for it. I originally liked her, but I think she does a lot of things in bad faith. For example, she scheduled a pop quiz after Halloween and another one right before the midterm, which to me just shows she is trying to trick people. On a few occasions, she would go on a 20 minute rant about AI in academia, and then run out of tim to finish her lecture. With all this being said, if you are a humanities student who reads everything assigned, it is "easy" to get an A and enjoy the material. If you are looking for an intro-level class with low commitment, this is not the class for you.

I took the class for the requirements but really found the material interesting. Prof Clinton cares about the subject matter and students, even bringing snacks to class sometimes. The material forced me to think, and discussions encouraged further digging into the texts. I would have enjoyed slightly more lecture and concrete content, but that might just be me.

The class meets once a week but it is also very difficult to keep track during class and not lose your train of thoughts due to how long it is. The professor is very nice and respectful although her teaching style was unhelpful in my opinion as she mostly allowed for discussions between students to take place and her lectures were less than 10 minutes of her speaking. There is one class discussion leadership that is graded and easy as well as one presentation in a group. Aside from that she asks for reading journals and 2 papers.
