Linsey Sainte-Claire

Linsey Sainte-Claire is a very well-spoken and knowledgeable teacher. She not only clearly cares about the texts and readings, but has the extensive ability to make them interesting and fun. One minor complaint I have with Professor Sainte-Claire is that she will often try to make entire classes become discussions which can often be awkward because many students do not feel comfortable pitching in or speaking when so many of the topics covered are extremely sensitive. Besides this, her slides are fun and engaging, the reading is a good amount but nothing crazy, and essays are graded fairly. It is not hard to succeed in this class as long as you try to foster a connection with the professor and keep up with the essay assignments.

Hard material and very heavy reading. The novels involved a lot of Caribbean slangs and expressions which I found difficult to interpret when reading. Professor Saint Claire was helpful and supportive and did a good job leading discussions.

Very Easy. She gave everyone in the class a 100% to my knowledge. Very relaxed. Nice FYS to ease yourself into college life. Nice guest speakers to advise you how to write college essays. Not really relevant but no FYS is. Sainte Claire is lovely. She is a kind grader and a kinder person. She enjoys what she teaches and it shows.
