Prof. Coe is extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and creates a positive and fast-paced class environment. Reading is required if you want to survive this course. The exams were difficult but the grading system was generous and there were many opportunities to make up for lost points. There was a lot of material on plant reproductive physiology that was pretty confusing and a sticking point for most of the class.

Professor Coe is an amazing ecologist who is very knowledgeable about deserts and how they work. The class was pretty easy, with a weekly reading and discussion. The presentation was partnered and pretty straight forward. As long as you don't fall behind on the one reading a week your ok.

LOVED my lecture section. HATED the labs. I liked the teaching style and having Wednesdays be just small group work days. I also really enjoyed having open-note tests. I felt like I learned a lot, but the labs were very time-consuming.
