Kim Cronise
I really did not enjoy the teaching style for this class. It was my first class with Professor Cronise and I was looking forward to the content and material, but her lectures and expectations were hard to follow. For example, she asked us to meet with her in office hours before exams to go over questions and make sure we understood the material exactly as she wanted us to say things on the exam, but then had extremely limited office hours and not everyone got the same amount of time or any time at all. When I tried putting concepts into my own words to demonstrate further understanding, it was marked as wrong because it wasn't in the specific wording she wanted. This would make sense in some cases, but it felt that she only wanted to see the exact word choice that she personally preferred, which feels more like an intro- level class than a higher level elective.

This course is one of the worst ideas to take if you are not a psych major. it is endless busy work and pure memorization for tests that students perform terribly on. Not a fun class and the material is only slightly interesting
It's an interesting course that focuses on the why/how we experience emotions and which theories/systems apply when we feel an emotion. There are weekly chapters that I highly recommend you read, as they'll help you better understand the lectures and better prepare you for the exams. The professor is amazing; you can tell she's well-versed in the material and is passionate about it. She's also very understanding; you can talk to her during office hours about the course content or if you're struggling, and she's always open to helping you.
