I've taken a few courses with Prof Weber now and I've found he's an extremely effective and engaging teacher. The class is very discussion-based, but you can still get a good participation grade even if your point isn't substantial but he can see you are trying to communicate it. Homework consists of reading and grammar worksheets, which are super easy and quick. The class itself is engaging and short, while also relaxed. You don't have to speak each class if you don't want to either. This is the last French class you will study grammar in, beyond this level you just read and write essays. The proficiency level of the class varies greatly, which was really comforting as someone who isn't very good at speaking, but hopes to get better.

This was an instance of "love the professor, don't love the course." M. Weber is an excellent teacher and he does his very best to get interesting discussions and thoughts percolating amongst the students. That being said, I did not realize how much reading there would be. There was too much reading in this class. The readings frequently didn't make sense and we were doing dozens of pages of difficult French reading a night. I would take a course with M. Weber again, just not this class. The papers weren't too hard to write, but the drowning in readings that were hard to understand (probably would have been pretty difficult in English as well) was not a fun time.

M. Weber is a great professor. The class was boring at times as it felt like some of the media we study is a bit outdated or not as relevant, which led to disengagement from the students. Despite that, he was super enthusiastic and accommodating of needs. He is also super sweet and approachable professor who also knows how to keep his professionalism
