This class was well structured and overall a solid experience. we had weekly problem sets, which definitely required a decent amount of time and consistent effort, but they were never unreasonable or impossibly hard. They did a good job of reinforcing the material from class and making sure you stayed engaged with the concepts throughout the semester. In that sense, the workload felt meaningful rather than busywork. You had to put in work every week, but it was manageable if you stayed on top of things. The class also had four total exams, with only three counting toward the final grade, which I thought was a fair setup. That policy took some pressure off, while still rewarding consistency. The exams were definitely the hardest part of the class. They were not easy and usually required a strong understanding of the material rather than just memorization. At the same time, I thought they were graded fairly, and it was very possible to do well if you paid attention in class, kept up with the weekly problem sets, and spent some real time studying beforehand. Nothing on the exams felt unfair or totally out of left field.

I took this course with Gindin, she was honestly solid. She was very forgiving and willing to work with students schedules. There were a lot of exams and they often felt very rushed in discussion sections.

This is required for the major and I would just take it with Gindin if you have the chance. It's probably the toughest class in the Econ major. There is weekly homework, four exams, one of which you can drop.
