Jennifer Strtak

Prof. Strtak was an amazing professor and it was a delight to be in her class last semester. I had never properly taken history before so I found the lectures to be really interesting, and prof. Strtak's enthusiasm made the classes so much more fun. She clearly cares a lot about her students and puts a lot of effort into her teaching, much more than some other professors here. While, the lectures are fast-paced and cover a lot of content and the discussions can sometimes feel ran by students with more knowledge, I don't feel the exams and coursework were disproportionately hard. But be prepared to work hard if you want an A. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely want to take another class with prof. Strtak.

This was an amazing class, it was a refreshing intro for me into the scholarly realm of gender studies. I think that this class gave space for a lot of free think and the professor encouraged all perspectives to be included. I think that this has been one of my best experiences at Middlebury.

This course is defiantly one that will give you a grasp on how to both write and learn history effectively. While the course may be fast pasted, the content learned more than makes up for the increased reading and note taking needed. Harsh grader on papers a little.
