This course was a great introduction to geomorphology. Weekly field labs built nicely off of the lecture material and the write-ups were interesting and well structured. The second half of this course Jeff pivoted to everyone working collaboratively writing up a manuscript to publish which I personally enjoyed and felt like I gained new skills through.

This course had a lot of fun field trips and subsequent lab reports made up the bulk of the work for this course. Some of the lab reports did not have clear connections to the skills discussed in lectures but were thematically relevant.

We worked on a semester long research project in a small group (~3-4) with the Vermont Geological Survey. This years seminar projects focused on landslide hazards in Vermont. It was rewarding to work with VGS as well as do a research project that has a direct impact on Vermont communities as well as farthing your knowledge of scientific writing, field studies and large scale group work.
