I took this course to get my CW class out of the way. I think it is a good course for people who are not the most confident with writing. Professor Sanchez walks you through the writing process and is very clear with what he wants. He is a hard grader on the essay, but you can revise them once, so it is not that big of a deal.
This a CW course, so expect about three essays throughout the course of the semester and about four one-page responses. He does allow for essay revisions and is willing to answer questions on essay drafts. He is very enthusiastic when teaching course content. Although I am not the most passionate about the content, I still felt like I was able to improve my writing.
Professor Sanchez is very passionate about explaining the history around certain memorials and displays of public memory. Though, the class only really looked like the students talking about the readings with very little intervention from him. If you like discussion-heavy classes with many papers, this may be the class for you.
