Hilary Andersson

I truly enjoyed taking this course. Professor Andersson does an incredible job of reviewing films in a way that is easy for students to grasp/absorb. In terms of homework, we had to write 2 papers and we had a documentary film storyboard project at the end of the course. Professor Andersson is a fair grader, she expects well written work and work that showcases that you have done the correct research. She is very very kind and accommodating to students needs.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Hillary is a very fair and understanding professor. Throughout the class we were able to hear about her experiences of documentary filmmaking in conflict areas. The class was pretty easy, there were a couple of short writing assignments, readings and of course documentaries to watch throughout the term; along with a final group project of creating a research and shooting plan for your groups (hypothetical documentary).
