Hedya Klein
As someone who came in with prior art experience, I did not find the content of this course particularly challenging and enjoyed the actual process of completing projects in class. However, all homework was over the weekend and could take anywhere from 6-10+ hours to complete, and often required spending time in the physical studio. While professor Klein clearly is very experienced, she regularly spent the first hour or more of class talking through the projects or techniques when it really could have been a 10 minute lecture. Because of this we didn't have a lot of time in class too work, and all the rambling made the three hour class period hard to bear. If you enjoy art and are committed to improving, I would recommend this class, but it is difficult and requires a strong work ethic and a lot of patience.

Living with chronic fatigue this class was definitely not for me. The constant physical labor of having to scratch and furnish on a piece of metal (copper, etc.) is just too tiring. And we are expected to spend 6 hours on every homework which is just frustrating. And yeah in order to get a good grade you really do have to spend more than 2 hours on it
A lot of class time was spent on really in depth tutorials that were sometimes way more thorough than they needed to be, but it also meant that we were not confused about processes. The workload was very inconsistent from week to week, and time management was difficult.
