Gary Winslett

Loved the lectures! Only 45 min and prof is very passionate about the course. He's up to date with stuff happening right now, so it's very interesting to talk to him even outside of the required material. I struggled with the paper, but the midterm exam was easy - he provided a list of questions to get ready for it.
For a J term class there were a lot of readings assigned, but it is definitely manageable although I stopped doing all of them after week one or so (I don't necessarily recommend this, however, because the course content is actually really interesting and it got awkward toward the end of the month when it was obvious that maybe one or two people max did the readings). Overall, assignments are minimal and the grade is mainly participation (although I'm pretty sure everyone just got an A). The major assignment is to create a group video on a topic of your choice at the end, but it's super easy/doable and you get class time to work on it. Another assignment we had was a digital detox which I personally enjoyed. You essentially have to turn in all of your devices for 24h and write a reflection about it – again, super easy. All in all, Prof Winslett is very nice and understanding that "J term = play term" and takes the time to get to know you/allow you to get to know him on a more personal level throughout the class, which I thought was really nice.

Gary is a very passionate prof but he is very critical when it comes to grading. your paper need to be written by gary himself to get an A. hes very helpful in office hours. he does not inflate grade. if her thinks you wrote a good paper, you will get a B average in the class
