Erin Sassin
A fun introduction to Berlin (but you don't have to read Faust beforehand; the course is mainly informed by The Ghosts of Berlin by Brian Ladd). There was a decent number of readings, but only one final paper, that we prepared vigorously for by peer-editing, writing annotated bibliographies, etc. We also did a "key analysis" on a site in Berlin, which really let the idea of buildings and space related to humans sink in for me.

I HATE Sassin and her teaching style. She is the worst professor I have had at Midd so far. If I hadn't been majoring in Arch, I would never have taken this course/would have dropped it on the first day. She is so unreasonable with her grading style and hides it behind her "nice teacher" facade. I would not recommend taking this course unless you need to, otherwise, take it with a different professor.

Professor Sassin was nice but the class so boring. Also you didn't need to go to class at all to get an A in this class. The projects aren't too bad, and I would consider this class to be a gem. Also I have no interest in art anymore after taking this class.
