Erin Sassin
Very fast paced overview of modern architecture. Important and valuable information to know as an architecture major. Sassin is very clear in her lecturing style, but the course is very fast paced with lots of reading.
Very in depth process of learning about the history of Detroit. Interesting architectural and social history of the city even if you have no connection to it. Lots of readings for the first half of the semester, then a much more relaxed group project focus for the second half.
This class was interesting and detailed, but the readings were often long and didn't necessarily correspond to the material covered in lectures. Erin Sassin is a good professor and very nice. The tests were open note, but grading is harsh and a strong grasp of the material is necessary to succeed on exams.
