Eric Moody

I really enjoyed this course, Professor Moody is a very engaging professor. The lecture/discussion structure was very helpful for retaining information. The lab portion of the class is also very helpful for learning to navigate excel, and there are lots of fun/interesting outdoor labs.

Eric Moody does a great job teaching this course; he is very passionate about Biology, and you can tell when he teaches. His lectures are informative and explain the content very well. His class is scheduled for two days of lectures, one day of discussion. The discussion group is helpful to go over content from the week, There is not a ton of work for the class, just make sure to stay on top of your individual discussion responses and take good notes. All the exams are open note, so the notes you take will help you later. He is very fair with his questions, there is nothing unexpected. Just be prepared to answer questions like what was asked in the discussion and the practice exams, and you will be ok. He always adds a fun question to the exams (whether making a science meme or telling him something good that happened that week). His grading is fair, and he gives you feedback on your responses. He also allows for test corrections, which are very effort-based. I enjoyed taking his class; he is a good guy, and he cares a lot about what he does.

Eric is hilarious and great at making boring material seem more interesting. Overall, this is a highly useful course and I think all Bio majors should consider taking it. I enjoyed his class and got a lot out of it.
