I felt that this course was a great introduction to biology at the college level, and a good refresher on material taught in high school. Their was a decent amount of information to learn and go over, but at the same time none of the concepts in and of themselves were too difficult. Just make sure to learn whats on the slides, and get the keywords and concepts committed to memory. Also a very interesting subject.

This course starts off reviewing a lot of basic highschool biology concepts but the speed and difficulty ramps up quickly. I think it is important to review older chapters as the class progresses to keep a relative understanding of how everything connects to each other. Overall, this course was very challenging but you will learn a lot and the Emily Putnam is a good lecturer with helpful insight into doing both learning and doing well in the actual papers and exams.

Professor Putnam is an amazing instructor who explains concepts well in class. The lab component was very interesting too. Grading and pace were fair and relaxed. She is very accommodating towards extenuating circumstances. Highly recommend!
