Eliza Garrison
HARC
The reading were extremely long and difficult to understand for an introduction class. Essay grading and comments were neither helpful or fair. Eliza garrison is an extremely enthusiastic and passionate professor however, her grading and assignments ruined my experience.
I had very high expectations going into this course because I had a prior appreciation of Gothic Architecture, but it turned out to be very redundant and never really discussed the actual architecture of the structures, instead very little parts of art and sculptures. Also grading is unreasonably hard and expectations outside of class are unrealistically high.
Bayeux Tapestry was my first year seminar and while have very little interest in the topic, Prof Garrison made the class enjoyable. She is very passionate and dedicated to her work and her students. There is a good amount of reading and writing but not too much more than any other class I am in. I am very lucky to have her as an advisor. If you are into art history I definitely recommend taking a class with her.
