Daniel Houghton
I really enjoyed this class. It functions as a survey course in various topics, like carpentry, laser cutting, and 3d printing. You work through modules at your own pace (everyone is staggered, so equipments is evenly used) and Daniel is around to help whenever needed.
Daniel is an excellent teacher, and he constantly challenges students to think creatively and do their best, which I think is a really valuable quality in a teacher. He also doesn't just answer questions for you, but rather, he helps you to get to an answer.
Intro Industrial design is a very cool class. You get to be immersed in the tools and machines of the makerspace and woodshop. This spring, the class was all asynchronous. You watched videos and lessons that guided you through learning how to use all the equipment available to you. You complete a ton of mini projects, most of which results in something cool to take home with you. At the end you are given a chance to do a large final project, which can be basically anything you want. All self paced and graded on just completing all the differnt modules. Would highly recomend this class for anyone who wants a chance to work with there hands, do problem solving, and experience industrial design.
