Daniel Fram
Daniel Fram is a real character (and not necessarily in a bad way). His lectures are extremely long-winded, but his observational sense of humor (which I found strikingly similar to Jerry Seinfeld) makes them bearable. While the readings themselves are interesting, especially for the critically thinking mind, they are lengthy and abstract, and I would highly recommend employing AI to help interpret them (despite his stern qualms against doing so). What really ruined this course for me was Fram's poor gauge of grading and feedback. Fram has a real "DIY" attitude toward revisions and rarely gives any helpful feedback on assessments. This theme wasn't just isolated to my experience, but many of my peers in this course, who would also complain that he was very dismissive during office hours. This course is easily passable, but for the "A Grade" minded overachiever, Fram's inconsistent attitude toward grading may put you on edge for the duration of the course.

This class had been one of my favorites and helped me decide my major. I believe the best characteristic of the class is how relevant the readings are to Professor Fram's lectures. The compare and contrast method Professor Fram utilizes in Might and Right, livens the Idealism Realism debate.
Professor Fram is one of the best professors at the school. Not an easy class, but you get out what you put in. The content is more relevant to and helpful for thinking about the world than you may expect.
