I enjoyed Professor Klyza's class, and thought the material was presented in an engaging and easy to understand manner. It included one midterm, and one large paper, and a couple small assignments, all of which were manageable. I would take a class with him again.

Professor Klyza was a great professor and certainly knew his stuff. Although lectures can be a bit boring at times, overall the course was very interesting and one of the most informative classes I have taken at Middlebury. The course consists of reading quizzes, a midterm, large research paper, and final exam. Although I thought this course was tough, I learned so much and would definitely take the class again.

Klyza is a very passionate professor with lots and lots of experience and knowledge about public policy and enviro issues. His lectures for 211 are mainly just speaking/presentation based on the lecture days and on discussion, he poses us questions or has us talk in pairs. His lecturing is fast-paced, and readings are about 30 pages (light) to 100 pages a week. Be prepared for lots of readings on a wide variety of authors from academia, philosophers, political scientists, and textbook readings. 1 term paper (10-15 pages), 1 midterm (pretty clear cut, not hard), and a final (similar to midterm), and quizzes on readings (pretty easy if u do the readings).
