I loved Christina and this course! There are some readings for each class, but they are chill and don't take super long (you also don't always have to do them), and we then talk about the readings in class briefly in small groups. We go and visit local classrooms a few times to observe, which engages with the community, and is something I liked! I would recommend this course to people interested in a mix of education and psychology, although it is more education rather than psych focused, but makes sense in the ed department. I would take a course with Christina again; she is great, flexible, caring, and super sweet!

This class was unique. Each class began with a warmup that was student-led and we always faced into a large circle aside from when speakers were brought in. There was a good amount of reading, but all that was asked of you was to take decent notes and participate in class. The content was interesting, and Professor Johnston was extremely accommodating. A good schedule balancer.

The education professors really have to teach what they preach. They are the most accommodating and understanding group of professors at this college. Overall, I think the education studies classes are among the most valuable I have taken at Middlebury. You learn very helpful information that can be applied to various other courses, as well as how to live your day-to-day life. Professor Johnson is so knowledgeable about what she teaches, and it was such a joy to attend that class every week.
