Benjamin Allred

I am an arch major so I had to take this class. As with every arch class, this class consumed most of my time. It was fun to work on models, analyze the site, research, sketch, and brainstorm. It was worth it.

I am a huge fan of professor Allred. He balances an appropriate amount of work with understanding that students have other classes to focus on as well. Since this is a 3 hour 2X a week class, we got lots of time to work on projects in-class. There was still substantial outside of class work, but it was typically just finishing up projects not something that needed much focus. The only stressful time was the final. Ben was a fair grader and extremely kind. It was entirely project based, no exams.

Ben is very understanding to all students in their individual needs and also considering events on campus. His teaching style includes lectures with lots of inspiration, followed with a project due a week from that class. There is a lot of time during class to work on your projects, and he provides helpful guidance to your projects.
