Barbara Ottinger

This class is as hard as you make it to be; it can serve as an easy J-term filler or provide an opportunity to explore a useful skill. The class focuses only on the basics of editing in Premiere Pro, using effects and transforming video clips is not taught.

This is a great course if you are interested in beginning video editing and if you are already an experienced editor. Although this class leans towards beginners for the technical aspects, you gain an immense amount of insight into the methodology of editing that is invaluable.

This class was extremely enjoyable. Professor Ottinger was extremely kind and an amazing teacher. She is extremely knowledgable and experienced in her field. She also understands that some people just want to float by in J term so she has a very low workload but gives lots of opportunities for extra work if you wanted to learn more. All the editing projects were very interesting and rewarding and you had opportunity to go over the project again and resubmit if you were unhappy with your grade. By far my favorite course that I have taken at Midd.
