Bahia Munem

Professor Munem is genuinely awesome. Her passion and enthusiasm for the subject are very evident. She also does a good job making the class approachable (this is the first gender studies class I have ever taken and I don't feel out of place), but also introduces her students to a wide range of texts, ideas, and evidence. This class is very thought-provoking and very interesting!!

I really enjoyed this course. I ended up taking it because I needed to fill my schedule, but it was eye-opening, and Prof. Munem chose very valuable readings for the class. The class is a mix of lecture and small-group discussion and raising your hand during lecture. Prof's enthusiasm was so contagious and really genuine, making classes even more interesting.

I am not a gender studies major but I really enjoyed this class. Professor Munem is so enthusiastic and loves to answer questions, which makes the classes really engaging. The material wasn't too much and I found it all very interesting and easy to write the weekly discussion posts about. Papers were graded fairly and I did well in the class and learned a lot!
