Bahia Munem

This class was one of the most valuable classes I have taken at Middlebury, and I am very glad that I had the opportunity to take it. Professor Munem is extremely knowledgeable and deeply passionate about the topics she teaches, which makes her lectures very engaging. All of the readings were very interesting, and her presentations were excellent. Although the lecture is three hours long, I never felt that it was too long or boring because the material was so engaging. I would highly recommend this class to other students.

This class has a lot of readings, yet we don't really use the bulk of them. It's only until we get to the essays that we really need the readings. Also the pop quizzes are almost impossible with how little we go into the reading. The class in itself can get repetitive, but I wouldn't say it is hard.

Professor Munem is so kind and accommodating. I loved the readings for this class, specifically the ones on hegemonic masculinity and about the intersection of racism and misogyny. The papers are fun to write. Would definitely take another class with her.
