Allison Cardon

It was evident that Allison is incredibly passionate about her work--her lectures were interesting and informative but confusing at times. However, she would pick on certain students and favor others, which created a poor learning environment.

The readings for this class challenged me, particularly the poems and theoretical texts. However, discussions helped me greatly because they were lengthy and focused. Allison (she prefers first name) is excellent at posing questions and pulling the best out of students. She also gives incredible feedback on our writing, and I saw improvement in each paper I turned in. Lastly, Allison is very kind and understanding. Communicate with her and she will have your back, I promise.

As my first foray into college writing, I loved this class! There was a good balance between novels, short stories, movies, poetry, and theory that we discussed in class, and I always came away from discussions feeling like I learned something new. You can tell that Professor Cardon has a clear passion for what she is teaching, and she is also incredibly funny and accommodating. If she ever teaches at Midd again, I would love to take one of her classes -- she has inspired me to continue to take English classes in the future.
