The class was overall chill and comfortable. The class was based on practical exercises such as walking, stretching, etc. We were assigned two scenes, one with a short script, and one with a longer script, which was most of all our grade. We also had informal journal submissions, which were not even tough. The class requires one to attend two theater productions, a great opportunity to learn new plays and new things about Middlebury. Professor Alex was such a nice, enthusiastic teacher, and I will definitely recommend taking his course.

I knew Alex beforehand and was excited to take another class with him, but met Ioana in class and both professors are amazing and incredibly passionate. I've found the class to be super interesting and would take it again every time. You do have to put a lot of work into the class outside class time, but I didn't find this to be a drag as I liked shooting and acting in the films. For the finals, they will give us the allotted class time to work on them, so you have extra time.

I took Acting I with Alex and now I'm taking Acting II and I have to say, I like it a lot. Alex is genuinely so interested in seeing his students succeed and he is very prepared for each class. You don't even have to be a Theatre minor/major to enjoy this class, as it really is welcoming and fun for all. There are some readings, but nothing too dense just be prepared to memorize a hefty material for your monologues.
